Nice store, helpful staff. Too bad I didn't have the extra cash hanging around to have a custom kilt made because they are awesome here. There are some good high-end souvenirs on the main floor, like the nice family crests with tartan, or the quaich which you can have engraved.

Not friendly Hi, I am sorry for that bad review, but when I asked the sale assistant to repeat because I didn't understood her first question, she start to pull a face and mimicking as if I was stupid. I know that my english is not great but I am probably not the first foreign person to come in the shop. What a pity! Because the shop is nice!

Fantastic customer service and quality goods. I needed some cufflinks for a gift but they were out of stock. I spoke to Julie in customer services who arranged with the supplier that they be sent to me directly. I ordered on a Wednesday for delivery the following Tuesday. The cufflinks arrived a day early complete with a Birthday greeting. Well done to all involved.

It is so refreshing to find a company in this day and age that delivers what it promises and where nothing seems too much effort. I visited Alex Scott after being recommended by several people. I needed some items at short notice for a golf tournament I'm organising and was delighted that they had most of the things I needed. Not being overly familiar with what I wanted I threw myself at the mercy of the staff. They could not have done a better job advising and guiding me through the dozens of different choices. What impressed me so much was that it seemed they really wanted me to get what I needed rather than trying to sell me the most expensive items! So for anyone looking for good old fashioned service I recommend these guys (I was in Aberdeen where their shop is but they also have a website which I think sells most of the stuff they have in store.) Thanks again guys. You saved me a lot of explaining to my boss :-)

I write this only as it has left me with a bad taste in my mouth all these 10+ years. While in Aberdeen on holiday with my wife and another couple I decided to take action on something I had wanted most of my life. A kilt in the traditional Keith tartan. We visited the shop I was measured and as is custom paid for the kilt in advance a sum of $1200 USD. Returning back to the US 2 days later we discovered a burst pipe and considerable damage needing repair. I contacted Alex Scott inquiring if they had begun as I needed to put the money into the repairs. Even though it would take 6-8 weeks before I would receive the finished product at the time of order I was told they had already purchased the tartan from the mill and couldn't refund any money. At that point I offered to pay for the material if they would send it to me and cover their costs for the inconvenience. I was informed that wasn't sufficient as their policy was no refunds on custom made kilts. The only catch was it hadn't been started as it was less than a week from when we visited the shop. After several escalating exchanges with the Director I finally came to the conclusion that if I didn't want to fly to Aberdeen and sort this out in person that my only option was to go ahead and have the kilt made and I informed them to go ahead with the original purchase. The allotted time passed and no contact or kilt was arriving. I emailed the Director twice inquiring as to the status and received no reply. AT that point my wife suggested I chalk it up to experience and forget about it. I did chalk it up to experience but as witnessed here I never forgot. When I ran across this opportunity to rate the shop I took the opportunity to share my experience in hopes other American's wouldn't share my misfortune. Live and learn.
