Have been here loads of times but the last couple have been disappointing. The meat in the chili and kebabs was tough and grisley whilst the peri peri chicken was so over cooked it was black underneath and not even a steak knife could cut through it. Although it was replaced after complaining it should never have been served. The menu could do with refreshing.

OK, so we booked here on a Groupon deal (usually this indicates a place is struggling as why else would you give away 60%+ off of 5 course meal?) The setting is nice and the food is actually good. That's where the good points end though. On arriving, the welcome host was on his iPhone and did not switch it off or even take it out of his hand to greet us. It took around 20 minutes to get a drink and even then I had to get up and walk to the bar and pick it up myself as it was just sat there going warm and flat as none could be bothered or even realised it was there. The waitresses are poorly trained and slow (although polite), which is the fault of the management team, they are more concerned about laying new cutlery than actually creating a hygienic environment as the table next to us was full of dirty plates and cutlery and then they actually sat a family of three down to eat and then cleared around them. Not good. There was no hand wash or soap in the toilets and the toilets are poorly maintained. What happened to this place? It's such a shame as the food is quite tasty, but based on this experience and even based on the Groupon deal I would not eat here again unless drastic changes took place. It will probably end up going out of business before that happens anyway unless Gordon Ramsay does an episode of Kitchen Nightmares here of course….***New addition for the owner - I will call you, but I need to know when you are in, thanks

Beautiful location and lovely cosy atmosphere. Most off the food was really teasty, just a few of the dishes we ordered were a bit salty for our liking. And the mussels were tiny but apart from tje food was really enjoyable. The girl serving us was extremely helpful, not often do you meet waiters like her these days. And the place isn't overly expensive either. I would bot hesitate to recommend Azucar for an evening meal or just a few drinks.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I went there yesterday afternoon for an early dinner with my family. Firstly, the floor was absolutely disgusting - spilled food which had dried all over the place. There was no soap in the men’s toilets (and I’m told there was no soap or toilet paper in the ladies). Our drinks order took over half an hour to arrive and then only because I asked the waitress, who had the cheek to argue back. She told me they were ‘very busy’ (the place was half empty with four waitresses each serving two tables) and ‘short-staffed’ (seemed patently untrue but even so, that isn’t my fault). When our food started to arrive a number of the orders were wrong and had been ordered by other tables. Ridiculously, we had to wait for our bread order to come out about twenty minutes after every other dish. Thoroughly fed up, we had to go up and ask for the bill and then refuse to pay a service charge. The food, incidentally, was bang average at best, although my daughter threw up hers over night. They had a ‘4’ for hygiene but I’d seriously be looking into that if I were the Food Standards Agency.
