    WARNING...do not buy a suit from Benny Hamish in Argyle street glasgow Well what can I say about this place apart from if you want a good quality suit that lasts and great customer service then please go somewhere else. I purchase a lovely 3 piece suit around end of November which cost just over £600 I have worn it a few times for work and it has been dry cleaned ONCE. Last week whilst @ work I kneeled down to put my laptop in my bag and the suit ripped at the seams from the back and tore half way down my left leg. Not good in front of a client. Anyway my partner rang the shop to explain what had happened as I was away working and she was met with an attitude and excuses that ranged from "not interested" I must have done something to the suit I have had it for more than 7 days to I don't know what your talking about I have just bought the shop last month. Not happy with this I called into this premises to check if this was true and to see if they would be more helpful face to face..let's just say I was wrong. I explained that we had phoned earlier in the week and that I was unhappy that a suit of this price has torn so easy after such a short time, I was asked had the suit been dry cleaned. I explained it had been once. I was them told that it was the dry cleaners fault that had washed my suit with jeans used a hot iron or spilt chemicals on it as it had faded on the leg. I explained it was not faded and that had nothing to do with the suit ripping.."Benny" the owner and the sales assistant that sold me the suit in the first place tried to talk over me as I explained I have bought many suits and used the same dry cleaners for all my suits and this has never happened before it must be a fault in the material. They kept trying to change the subject blaming me blaming the dry cleaners stated that they did not know what they were doing, are incompetent and should not be a dry cleaners. He then said that he had just bought the shop I pointed out that they were the same people that sold me the suit and that he told me he was the owner in Nov and that the same name same sign same everything. I was then told that if I bought a car and crashed it into a wall I would not get a replacement. I pointed out that good customer service would be to say sorry and replace the trousers which was met with I am not sorry why would I be sorry I explained that I will be buying many more suits in my life and because of his attitude they won't be from his shop I was then told good. The suit is apparently 100% wool and made to the highest standard I will let trading standards decided that and I am sure the tax man will be interested in the "new owners" I have contacted the dry cleaners who are not happy about the slanderous accusations and have since been shown That the suit was badly made and there was a flaw in the material.. So please folks if you need a suit for anything I would not use Benny Hamish on Argyle at in Glasgow as you will only be let down and very disappointed

    Gentleman if you are looking for a good quality suit then do NOT enter the Benny hamish store, it should be re named the the BENNY HILL store, i purchased a so called Italian designer suit at a cost of £1,550. i paid up front and in good faith, the company are hopeless can only advise you to keep walking straight past and go to a more respectable tailor, i myself found Massimo Dutti on Buchanan street (STYLE MILE) a great place for a real quality suit at a fair price with the tailor spending over an hour to take fittings etc, Benny hamish done it in 5 mins remember gents spending an hour getting a proper fitting is so much more of a better fit, currently taking BH to court for a full refund plus expenses, see you in court Benny Hill, sorry Hamish, I am now happy to report that i have won my case against Benny Hamish with the judge awarding me all my money to be refunded along with any expenses incurred, SHERRIF OFFICERS are now to attend shop and remove goods if payment is not received, it would not be benny hamish if he didnt try and wriggle out of payment, first of all he told sherriff officers the shop ceased trading and this was now under a new trading name APPOLINAIRE LTD, however sherriff officers seen this for what it was and i now await my money from sheriff officers, steer well clear of this place Benny hamish is a lying dishonest individual ....Kind Regards...

    I have been buying from here for about 4 years now, and have spent thousands of pounds on their bespoke range. Always treated in a professional and friendly way by the staff and never let down by the suits. From shoulder to ankle the suit fits to perfection. Also purchased bespoke shoes which were phenomenal. Accessory range also 10/10. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to spend a bit of money for a special occasion.

    I was in yesterday and bought a black tie for my 7yr old grandson who has just lost his other gran . The tie was tiny as you would expect for that age and was on an elastic to go under his collar they charged me £15 for this which I payed without thinking at the time but when I got home and had a better look at it I was really angry at the cost looking at the till receipt it says I bought a leather belt for £15 which made me more angry .I called them numerous times today on the no displayed on the receipt but got no answer I have just returned from the shop once more fuming as the guy who served me yesterday and who I presume is the owner did not wish to help me at all and the owner even accused me of using it and trying to return it he new it was for a funeral I asked if i looked like I had been at a funeral and explained it wasn't till Friday he said they had a no return policy which I did not see as it is in a frame way up high and at the side of the till where no one would notice .I asked for a credit note and was point blank refused one both of them did not even have the decency to cone close to me to discuss the matter quietly the manager was shouting from way down the shop they did have another customer in at the time who left as he was probably emarassed by this show. They said the till needs upgraded hence the wrong item on receipt and they were working on the phone lines, wonder who they were ? These 2 guys should not be in the retail business as they do not possess any communication skill in dealing with customers they obviously need the money more than I do but I would urge everyone I know never enter this shop.
