  It's a strange place, one part pub and the other part restaurant. However, the food was delicious and the portion sizes huge... the first time ever that I regretted not ordering the salad! We attended a private event, and even though 12 of us were on a long table rather than being arranged where we could see one another, I found the staff attentive and pleasant. Based on the portion sizes and that the food was good, I was surpassed that the prices were very competitive! Would I go again? Yes, but I will order the salad.

  Purveyors of the best steak pie in the country and I believe their other offerings are pretty decent too. Great service on top makes this establishment well worth a visit. Did I mention how good the steak pie is?

  Been here a few times over the years and it's always good. 12 of us here for my sister's birthday. Most of us had the steak pie me included. It was tasty but the pastry came apart in layers. Staff were attentive but not intrusive, although a few smiles would have been nice! Relaxed and homely, always a good experience.

  The restaurant is dreadful, a shadow of its former glory. Staff are helpful but they can't do anything about the poor quality food which isn't even cheap. Frozen roast potatoes, roast beef which was tough and tasted like it was past its best. Sad to see it's gone downhill.
