Shocking - numerous missed collections and no response to written complaints. Birmingham Council Refuse Collection do not even deserve one star. We have not had a collection for recyclables for a whole month.

The service the council offer for our rubbish collection is less than 1 star! They don't collect when they say they will. And when they do, you can tell they're not bothered in keeping the streets tidy, as rubbish is strewn everywhere.

Incompetent, unreliable, don't answer the 'phone and never keep their customers informed. Completely dysfunctional. They don't even deserve the 1 star. Update - now they have engaged a debt collector to collect money for a premises we left in September. We rang them (they didn't answer), e-mailed them (they didn't reply) and finally wrote to them to tell them we had left and didn't need the service any more. They confirmed it, and kept sending invoices. They are so bad they need a negative star rating.

Edit: Update on my earlier review. The bin strike is over! Unfortunately that doesn't mean my bins have been dealt with... with today marking the second missed recycling waste collection. Have complained to the council. Doubt it'll help. Not worth paying tax for. Like others in Birmingham - many weeks and no bin collection. My neighbours rubbish is now spread across the road - much to the delight of local ferral cats (and I imagine rats too). Support for the bin men is fading as we continue to deal with the mess, the hazard, the sight and the smell of rubbish daily. We're paying for a service and not receiving it.

The bin crews have not recycled my streets waste since they introduced wheelie bins back in 2014 (no wonder we are one of the lowest recycling cities). I even have video evidence of this. Even before the strike my street was continually missed along with many other streets. I complained week on end but they never resolved the missed collections. Labour led Birmingham City Council is a heavily bureaucratic organisation and is very good at covering up it's wrongdoings. They have bankrupted the council and this has caused other council services to suffer. It is unacceptable. And to top it off they charge residents to collect garden waste. However they never actually collect it so how can they get away with not refunding residents that have paid.
