::Unusual nature reserve on the edge of Cambridge City, great for letting the dog off for a run as completely enclosed. Stock up on chalk for the kids!

::Nice day out for the kids. Educational as they get to learn a bit of history about the place and can go fossil hunting. Kids do get very messy though. No parking on site so only accessible by bike or walking although there is a small residential car park nearby.

::Interesting in the summer with amazing chalk plants growing in the lime. A walk around the entire quarry takes about 20mins on the tarmac path. I can let my greyhounds off the lead here as it is totally enclosed and secure....except for a corner at the very far end where an agile dog could scramble up the scree into a field . It's convenient for the caravan site next door.
