  I had high hopes for Clayton Hotel Birmingham especially after reading all the reviews, unfortunately the only thing impressive was the lobby area of the Hotel. I had booked a suite for a late Anniversary treat, check in time was 3pm. We arrived at 3:30 and the room wasn't ready, we were asked to wait whilst the room was being prepared, 10 minutes later the receptionist called us to advise us that the room was ready for us. We got to the room, which was nice and spacious as described. The wife said it smelt damp, I put it down to just being cleaned but after reading more reviews I see she was right. Rested a while in the room lounge before heading out, came back to the hotel later on and the temperature had dropped. Tried to use the A/C to heat the room up to no affect, so my wife called down to reception to be told they reduce the temperature in spring, but that she would increase our room temperature from the controls in reception. An hour later, still cold! In the morning I went for a shower to find brown long hair in the shower tray, my wifes hair is black! The room had obviously been cleaned without due care, which would explain how a suite could be cleaned so quickly in such a short space of time! The shower itself was described as a monsoon shower, but was more like drizzle shower. Also note if you are going to have a shower before checking out time, then be prepared not to have a hot shower, as my wife found out! "Experience the ultimate in comfort and convenience with our suites in the heart of Birmingham city" Sadly disappointed by the above experience, the day time reception staff helpful, the night time staff need further training!

  Hi I have stayed two nights at Clayton during Easter holiday. The hotel’s location is very convenient and the rooms are clean. However, when you need something you can not reach the reception since they are nit picking up the phone and/or call back. Also I have ordered sleepers (2,5 Euro per ) for the second night and they never send them to my room, while checking out they refund but the problem is they did not serve. The breakfast was avg and if you need anything there were no one around in the restaurant.

  Great hotel. Stayed Few times rooms are brilliant. Breakfast nice too. Right next to bull ring so close to shops and easy to get a taxi to broad Street or mailbox. Staff very friendly and helpful.Ideal location in central Birmingham, short walk to new street station and the bullring opposite that. Service was as you could expect and very good. Rooms looked great but on the small side. I would stay there again.

  Ging zum Nachmittagstee als Überraschung für meine Mutter. Ich habe meine Tanten und Cousine eingeladen. War absolut fantastisch. Der Service war auf der nächsten Ebene, sie fragte immer wieder, ob wir etwas brauchten, und stellte sicher, dass es uns gut ging. Wir müssen seit ungefähr 4 Stunden dort gewesen sein, die letzten zwei Stunden, die wir plauderten, seit wir mit dem Essen fertig waren. Kein einziges Mal fragten sie uns, ob wir fertig waren oder eilten uns zum Gehen. War toll. Die Atmosphäre war so toll, schönes Sofa, bequeme Sitzgelegenheiten und Live-Musik. Bester Nachmittagstee aller Zeiten. Die Auswahl an Speisen war fantastisch, mit einer Auswahl an Tees. Würde auf jeden Fall wieder gehen.
