  Excellent medium size venue with lots of history and character.

  A strangely old fashioned building reminiscent of parish halls in the provinces. It is much larger than that though. It is run by the south place ethical society and provides a venue for all sorts of groups of people to hold meetings, conferences etc also big enough for dancing. Different room sizes are available and there is a larger hall with a gallery. There is a great library on the first floor which is open to the public on certain weekdays but not at the weekend covering subjects such as. economic politics philosophy etc

  I love the Sunday concerts at this uniquely old-fashioned place. However the heating is very inadequate in cold weather. It was zero degrees outside and the radiators upstairs (at least) weren't even switched on. Some people sat with their gloves and woolly hats on and/or scarves around their faces.

  A friendly meeting and concert hall, bright and accessible, full of interesting events. Very central, great transport connections

  A little tatty and old fashioned but thank goodness places like this still exist to serve the community and offer a good value place to host events.
