All the staff are lovely and I always get my parcels delivered here(usually clothes) and they are right next door to an alteration shop which is ideal!

I went into Doddle and it turned out I needed to post my package via Royal Mail. These guys helped me with directions, pasting my address tag onto my package and also helped with additional info. Thanks guys!

The experience of Doddle used to bra good one. Drop your parcel off at the train station perhaps on the way to work or home, weigh it and send it. Perfect, practical and fitted into my daily life. Now however this has changed. Though I note that their website still states that they are collected at train stations. This is simply not true any more due to, what I am told, rising costs for rent. Now, I take my parcel to Doddle where they weigh it, and I log into their laptop or iPad and set up and pay for the Hermes parcel service myself. They (at time begrudgingly) print my label and I leave it there for collection. Gone are the days of end to end service being offered with minimal disruption. Oh..and parking is now an issue too as there is simply no where to park (legally!) where as at the train station there was 20 minutes from parking. I don't see how this place can continue..as just down the road (literally two minute walk) is Royal Mail collection office and 5 minutes walk the other way, the Post Office at Churchill Square where parcels can be sent from. Personally, if I worked there, I would be looking for another job as I can not see how this place can keep going on £5 a month subscriptions for what I can get for free by Royal Mail. The £5 a month used to get you discount of packages being sent (£10%) and not you no longer get this benefit but the £5 a month is still charged! Personally..I use it for the free postal bags but that's all! I am told by Doddle on Twitter that they have a 'special relationship' with Hermes. I have no idea what this is however as me, as the end customer, still pays the normal price with Hermes not a discounted one.

Wow, I've seen some stupid business models in my time, but this has got to be near the top of my list. I used Doddle a few months ago to ship a package internationally because they were cheaper than the post office and I don't have a printer at home; arranging for a courier to collect from home is impractical. Everything was fine: I was happy with their rates and the package was delivered to the recipient. Today, I carried another package all the way to the station (where they were located last time) and realized they had actually moved into a smaller shop a bit further down Queen's Road. Ok, no problem, it seemed like the old shop they had was oversized for what it was. What I did not realize, however, was that their entire business model has changed. You can no longer go there with a package, have it weighed, pay for postage, and then leave (the entire point of me going there). Now, you have to book a third-party courier in advance at home, pay the courier directly, and then print out the label at home. So, you know, exactly what I would do anyway without Doddle being in the equation. The guy who worked there was very friendly and seemed to be just as confused about this business model as I was; he was at least kind enough to tell me the weight of my parcel. But then I got to lug the thing all the way back home, pay Hermes directly, and just arrange for them to collect it from me at work. Like I said, I don't understand why anybody would involve Doddle in the equation at this point. Looking at their website, it seems like the only way they're trying to generate revenue is by charging people a fee to have their parcels shipped to Doddle for "convenience"; why not slap an extra 2 quid onto the cost of having something shipped to you? If this place is still in business in 6 months I will be awestruck.
