Some of the administration staff in reception area have no tact, compassion or standards in dealing with bereaved families. I have to agree with the lady with the surname 'Lucas'. They are a complete nightmare. Mr. Byrne's review beggars belief. Apologies the lady's name I agreed with was Cusack not Lucas.

Both my maternal grandparents and ashes of my dad are buried here, the cemetery is a complete mess. We visit the grave regularly (every 4-6 weeks), and every time we go we have to cut grass to get to graveside, then weed and cut around grave, then put weedkiller down, to make the graveside presentable, all of this continues to upset my mum. It is clear that some parts of the cemetery are cared for better than others, but it is obvious the ground staff are not doing even a basic job of keeping access to all the maintained graves. Very poor.

We chose this place for my father due to the lovely warm atmosphere when you enter the cemetery, surrounded colourful flowers. It is well maintained with staff members lending a helping hand when needed.

My grandfather worked in East London Cemetery for 40 years as a gravedigger and he and the other workers kept the cemetery immaculate (1940 - 1980s). Now the cemetery has become inundated with soggy cards, toys etc. Disappointing see. A bunch of fresh flowers is always a lovely gesture to loved ones at rest. I'm glad my grandfather isn't around to see it now, although he is laid to rest in there with my Grandmother in the rose garden as I remember it.
