Been trying to book my car in for two days to the get a service and works carried out as there is a fault on the car. 20 minutes to via phone system, I had to press option of buying a car to speak to someone, was then passed over a team that wasn't service, told someone would call me back. They didn't. Called again today, again had to press sales option for someone to pick up, put on hold and nobody picked up. At that point my phone went down and my business gone elsewhere. I was an existing customer. Simply dreadful!

They were useless when I was buying the car, and only cared about getting the sale, pressuring me to buy it and giving me a deadline of a day. I have had the car 8 months and the engine is gone already. I had it booked in on the Wednesday after it being sat in their garage for 5 days, rang to confirm that it was repaired and they haven't even bothered looking at it. I only bought the car from them because i though it was such a good deal. Avoid at all costs.

I am writing to express my disgust at the experience we had at Evans Halshaw (Vauxhall) on Gelderd Road in Leeds on Saturday 17th March 2018. We have been buying cars from Evans Halshaw (Vauxhall) on Hunslet Road in Leeds for many Years and have previously always been happy with the service received and we always had a good rapport with your staff. We visited your new showroom on Saturday 17th March 2018, having identified a used car on your website that we wished to purchase. We were disappointed to find that the members of staff we had previously dealt with for a number of Years (Mark Johnstone, Mike Dean et al) had all left and gone to Toyota?!. We dealt with a salesman who never gave his name and appeared to not know what he was doing. This salesman seemed to be only concerned with selling us numerous add-ons that we did not want or need. We told the salesman the monthly repayment figure we had in mind and he began entering figures on the screen. The first offer made was for £268 a month - almost a £100 more a month than the figures we had said we were looking at; which having worked in finance for 30 Years were perfectly feasible. The salesman then went away and came back with a figure of £229 a month which was still way out on what we had calculated. Furthermore the salesman was trying very hard to sell us products that we simply did not want including a 2 Year warranty policy that was to be paid for over 5 Years? How that works is anybody's guess! the salesman did not understand this any better than we did. The salesman came out with several statements which even someone new to car buying would question, it was obvious we were being paid lip service and we both got the impression that perhaps the salesman thought we were a bit slack. At one point we were told the manager had applied a loyalty discount, though frankly we couldn't see this reflected in your rip off figures at all. Furthermore there was no communication regarding the car we were part exchanging whatsoever? No figures given at all. After over an hour messing about going backwards and forwards to the manager, we were told that, (and I quote) "it wasn't do-able" and that the manager would look for an older or cheaper car that may suit our needs. At this point we told the salesman to forget it and walked away very disappointed. This in our experience is not how Evans Halshaw worked previously at all. In the past when we have not been able to agree a figure on the day we visited, you can guarantee the salesman will call us later in the week to try and find some middle ground before coming to an agreement and making a purchase. On this occasion no-one has called giving the impression you aren't interested in selling cars whatsoever. Having being loyal customers for many, many Years, your complete lack of customer service on this occasion was quite frankly appalling and you have certainly lost any future custom from us and our family. We are left with the distinct impression you have zero interest in selling used cars, we might suggest you stick to selling new cars which is all you seem interested in these days, we couldn't help but notice your staff poring over customers looking at brand new cars. We have since made a purchase from JCT600 who's staff were attentive, welcoming and had no problem whatsoever offering us an identical vehicle at the price we wanted. I would suggest you and your team take note of this because the appalling lack of service we encountered is never going to sell cars. It is certain we will not ever purchase from you again and we will not be recommending you to family and friends which we have previously done - many times. We are very disappointed with you and we wish to take this complaint to the very top levels of your organisation, Pendragon. Put bluntly, heads should roll. We are at a loss to understand why you as a company would spend a small fortune on a flash new showroom when you don't actually want to sell people cars?

Used these for a work van recently. We had a problem with the gearbox, and our staff had to actually show the mechanic what was wrong as they couldn't find the really very obvious problem in the first place. Complete lack of communication. Rude people on the phones. If you have a vehicle booked in, don't then tell us you can't get round to it as you're too busy. Don't book it in if it's going to take you more than a week to even properly look at it. Unimpressed.
