  The staff make the place! The food was excellent quality but not overpriced in a casual atmosphere. The customer service and warmth of personality of each staff made our stay over our anniversary that little bit more special. We will definitely return because of their extra efforts whether it was the smiles at reception to the amazing omelettes to the suggestions of a good drink, event, best way to walk etc. They were always on hand. A great team & management!

  Excellent fitness suite and leisure complex. Water temperature was spot on. Steam room and sauna were very spacious. Lounging area about pool a bonus. Gym was well kitted out. Virtual running machines exceptional.

  I booked a Thursday and Friday night here because of work, and I was very pleased with the hotel. I had a regular room. The room was all clean and well maintained, and several aspects were well designed. Disappointed that at least the face towel was not lint-free. The iron and board were clean and functioned well. Decor was all pleasant. Some minor quibbles: the bathroom mirror got steamed up if I kept the door closed when showering, and I think the front door was as capable of transmitting sound as hotels always seem to have - but luckily I had no noisy neighbours and got 2 good nights' sleep. I was in room 725. The lighting in the room was odd in that the bedside lamp was very bright. Elsewhere on the bureau there was a lamp which had more of the dimmed effect I would have wanted at the bedside lamp. My bed was OK, the pillows were a bit too plumped up for my liking. The shower had instructions! Great, using it was hassle-free. Staff were generally helpful, but I did not make many demands of them.

  Was there for one nights stay and would definitely go back. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. We went for breakfast and it exceeded my expectations of hotel food Xxxx Didn't want to come home xxx

  This hotel is brilliant, would highly recommend it. Staff were very friendly and catered to every need you could think, even ironing your clothes! Food was fantastic, we had the breakfast buffet which was more than worth the £13 with how much of a selection there was and how fresh it tasted plus the room service food was brought up piping hot and was a good portion size though a tad expensive but that's to be expected. Only complaint was our toilet didn't always flush on the first go and we couldn't get a shower on the last day due to work being carried out on the water pipes without us being given any notice. All in all I would rate the Marriott very highly and we would gladly stay here again, only the toilet is stopping us from giving full 5 stars, so if you can afford to spend a little extra on your hotel I'd definitely choose the Marriott.
