  Opening hours are a joke. 4.30 close, no thought for the average worker who may need to get to the bank after work.

  First google search and this says this branch is open till 5 when it's actually 4.30 Monday through till Friday 😞

  A bit run down lookinh and staff not the most welcoming when I dropped in to confirm details of a new account opened.

  I went in here recently to open a help-to-buy ISA. I've never been with Halifax before. They were very helpful, answered my questions clearly and well, gave me all the information I needed and operated the advice free service advertised perfectly. I especially liked that they used videos to explain the details of the account I was opening, because it gave me the certainty that nothing was being missed out. They offered me tea and coffee when I arrived and kept to time well.
