  Had a Murder mystery night booked by my better half. Staff at the hallmark hotel were friendly and approachable. The place was deserving of a 4 star rating. The room we had was an upgraded room with a massive yet extremely comfortable bed with the standard amenities. Would visit again.

  Comfortable as budget hotels go. Very interesting use of wedge shaped rooms. Not much space if cat swinging is part of the agenda, but huge beds, so clearly swinging of a different kind would be appealing. Very nice and helpful staff. The rooms have baths! A huge plus. The breakfast has black pudding. Can it get any better?

  There overnight and for an event the following day. Don't arrive late at 9.30pm hoping to eat... unless you like 'greasy' pizza/ hotdog/ nachos at 11pm. Breakfast fine. The mic kept cutting out during presentations but the battery issue got resolved and otherwise the facilities seemed good and everything went smoothly. Excellent cab supply for exodus at the end. Makes up for seemingly no cabs from Birmingham New Street accepting card payment at 9pm the night before.

  Good hotel in general. Nice bar area with good atmosphere. Great food in restaurant with new menu. Comfortable and clean room with large flat screen TVs although rather on the small side - not a problem for one person in a twin room but need to be close to your partner if sharing. I had an inner room so no real view out of window but who needs a view of inner city Birmingham anyway!

  The Hallmark is a decent 4 star city hotel which is located near Birmingham City centre. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. I understand the standard rooms are small on advice of reception we upgraded to executive room as my wife is in wheel chair. This was fitted with a good disabled bathroom. The upgrade at £15 was worth the extra. The room was clean and whilst showing its age had been well maintained. The room had all you would expect from a city hotel including coffee making equipment, TV and toiletries in bathroom. Breakfast was buffet style and offered a decent level of choice with porridge,cereals,fruit and yoghurt and fried English breakfast. The fried food was at best warm and mainly cold. Pleasingly there was a coffee machine with good choice and pleasant coffee. For the price it's good value and would stay again but probably give the fried breakfast a miss. Without exception staff were attentive and friendly a real bonus.
