  A very beautiful building with great history... only currently able to accept cash however? Possible tax avoidance or trying to hide actual profit/income for some reason?? Reasonable priced drinks in the bar and clean rooms with tea and coffee facilities...

  My son bought my wife & i a voucher for afternoon tea at this place. After 7 phone calls, managed to speak with the manageress who took our details & booked us in for Friday 9th Feb. When we got there, the hotel seemed deserted & i had a wander around trying to find someone, but not a soul to be seen. We sat & waited & after a while the chef walked through reception & asked us what we wanted. We explained our visit But he knew nothing about it, & there was no-one else he could speak to, so we left. Appalling service, my birthday treat spoiled!!

  Good value no nonsense hotel. As central as central can be. Amazing views at brekkie on the top floor.
