Great, clear displays. We'll annotated. Interesting stuff.

Beautiful area! The museum and art gallery are situated on a raised area which looks over the town. Great to visit for the views and pictures alone. As an attraction it's interesting for anyone that likes galleries and museums however it's on the smaller scale and doesn't really have much wow factor. I enjoyed it as I'm into these types of things but I don't think this would be for everyone. Check it out and make that decision for yourself - the good thing is, if it isn't - its situated in the town so you can leave and go shopping or grab food instead!

A modest museum but worth a visit. Good cafe, too. Difficult to ignore the ugliness and inappropriateness of the building. No parking.

A really well presented, interesting place to visit. Not just for a rainy day, it's a valuable contribution to understanding the history of Inverness.

Gallery portion constantly changing, and always thought-provoking. Collections well-curated, and active programme of inclusive events always well worth attending. The exterior is poor-looking, but inside the staff work really hard to lift this treasure of Inverness and involve the community. Not static and staid, but worth visiting regularly! Don't forget to visit the sister Castle Viewpoint at the side of the castle while you are there, not free but well worth the £5 for spectacular views over the surrounding area. The Viewpoint is currently open 7 days a week (though reduced winter hours) as it has proved so popular.
