  A very good friend of mine had a very unpleasant experience at this salon but decided not to post a review as she found the whole thing quite upsetting and wanted to forget about it. I however feel that a review must be left and so am doing so on her behalf. I myself used to go to this salon but stopped as I found the owner to be extremely rude and so no longer wanted to spend my money here. Following the post on the Jo Banks facebook page as shown in the photo attached, an appointment was made with Hayley. On making the appointment it was confirmed that a 50% discount would be applied. On arrival at the salon (which was a Saturday), my friend reconfirmed with Hayley that the 50% would apply. Hayley confirmed that it would. My friend was extremely happy with the haircut and in other circumstances would have happily paid full price for it. However the appointment was made on the basis of there being a 50% discount. My friend made her way to the till to pay. Jo Banks was on the desk. She said the charge would be the full amount. My friend explained to her that she had the 50% discount. Jo Banks denied that this was applicable on Saturdays although it doesn't say so on her Facebook page. Hayley tried to tell Jo that she had agreed the discount with the customer. Jo's response was to gesture around the salon and say, 'look around you, do you think we need to give a discount on the weekend - we are full. Besides you get a drink on the house (tea) and where do you get that nowadays'? All salons Jo. Hayley apologised to my friend. After some time Jo conceded to give a 20% discount as a 'gesture of goodwill'. My friend paid in order to leave as quickly as possible after a truly awful experience. She feels that its all such a shame as Hayley was fantastic.

  Always fantastic! Staff are lovely and stylists always achieve exactly what I ask for.

  I went there once to get my hair styled, cut and colour. I had made the booking and they were confused saying that there was no time to do both so I have to re-schedule the cut and the colour on different days. There was no mention on this when I got the confirmation. I was very happy with the result although found it very expensive. They offer free fringe trimming for customers, which is great. I just got really frustrated that way too many times they have been closed although according their opening tines they should have been open. Also I left inquiry form to make a booking and mentioned the friend referal discount, I never even got a reply. I also would like to say I love the place because Casey is lovely and did a great job with my hair. It is just annoying if you have to constantly check whether they are open or not dispite what it says on their website.

  My daughter had her hair washed, cut and blow dried at the Jo Banks Salon in St Albans. The atmosphere was very friendly and the stylist who cut my daughter's hair really listened to my teenage daughter's brief. The results were excellent and my daughter is thrilled with her new look hair style! The salon was very modern and clean and very good value for money! I would highly recommend this salon.
