  The customer service is appalling. The staff are uninterested and offhand. Curiously, they wear badges with a fun name or description on them. Was Papa Smurf’s main character trait grumpiness? The quality of the dry cleaning is OK, or I wouldn’t go at all.

  I had a coat dry cleaned here which I was happy with. I also got the hem of my dress put up. There is no change room so you cannot try the dress on in front of the dress maker which is annoying. I just had to guess and tell her how many cms I wanted off the hem. She did the hem in half a day and charged me about 14-15 pounds which is very reasonable. Overall I was happy with the service. The only issue I had was that I showed them my student ID when I came to pick up my items and not initially. They initially refused to give me the student discount. I had to argue with them for a while before they would give me the discount. Otherwise, I was happy and would come back here.

  A quick google of “dry cleaners oxford” seems to confirm that people only write reviews when they’ve got something to complain about, so i thought i’d buck the trend and give Johnsons some well deserved credit here. After reading half a dozen my-£1200-trench-was-ruined-forever internet horror stories it was with great trepidation that i dropped off my stone coloured Burberry Sandringham Heritage Trench coat, made from a waterproof hideously-difficult-to-clean woven gaberdine material which was covered in bike oil splodges and brunette-tinted dry shampoo stains around the collar (lets just say the coat is far more sophisticated than the owner). The service isn’t overly friendly, but they seemed very knowledgable (they advised i remove any trimmings with leather bits like the collar, cuffs and belt) i think they could tell i was feeling a bit neurotic about it all because the chap said "we'll do our best with it madam" which was quite reassuring, frankly i’ll take knowledgable professional over "friendly" any day. I dropped it off on Tuesday afternoon and picked it up on Saturday morning - absolutely spotless and pristine (i nearly shed tears i was so relieved) and all for £16.50. I would definitely recommend Johnson's services for cleaning trench coats.

  Just had my laundry done...Perfect. Very friendly service from Elizabeth. Half the price of the Hotel service. Even signed on for loyalty programme which saves me 10% every time.
