Not as good as it used to be very handy for a quick shop seems to run out of certain types of food

I only went here to complain. I sent my 15yo nephew to get 2 items. The security guard followed him around the store and accused him of stealing cookies and searched his bag. He also used several swear words at my nephew when the bag proved to be empty. He hadnt even left the store and he most certainly hadnt stolen anything. The asst manager i complained to was useless. No apology. Took me to an area outside of the staff toilets and attempted to take notes on a scrap of paper and said my name wasnt necessary. He couldnt quote the complaints procedure and had to make a phone call to ask what to do. I am disgusted. Whilst the security is a seperate company, they are employed by Lidl and as such, should show customer focus. They should also know the rules regarding accusations of theft and when to search, ie, when the suspect has left the store! And im sure decent security with SIA qualifications would not use such language when there was no need. I.shall be taking this up with the manager tomorrow and with head office. As a retail Area Support Manager myself, i find this whole episode shocking amd quite unnacceptable.

Good quality of products and good prices. There are often products of other country ..spanish or italian. Fantastic quality of kids clothes

Typical Lidl, competitive prices clean and well stocked. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only negative is that there is not much space to pack your bags at the checkout.

Fantastic value for money at Lidl. Not only do they offer fresh bread/cakes, vegetables/fruit, the usual selection of groceries (mostly not brand names) but twice a week they change their non-food items, which are displayed in the central aisles and could be anything from a pair of tights to a sander or a radiator. Staff are hardworking and polite in my experience. Also sell wines and spirits but not tobacco. Open until 9pm from Monday to Saturday, 4pm Sundays. A store well worth visiting where genuine bargains are available.
