  Great location. Privileged rooms are very comfortable. Bathrooms are small, no place for personal belongings. Very simple breakfast but plenty of restaurants, cafes and groceries near by. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay again.

  The team very very polite and helpful, room had a great view and was a good size. Only downside was that the room was so hot! Turned off all heating and openined the windows overnight but was still super warm.

  I stay in this hotel regularly and it is definitely a place that you can book with some assurance that you will get a clean room and decent service. The interiors are pleasant with lots of tasteful tartan, but oddly no two rooms I have stayed in have been the same. Keeps you on your toes I suppose. Great breakfast selection, and the restaurant is handy albeit a little overpriced for the standard of food, but more than acceptable if you are away for work and need something on your doorstep.

  We booked this accommodation for my birthday night out, we travelled over a hour to stand at the reception for 15 minutes before we were seen to, we paid £6 for the overnight parking, once we finally got booked in we went to our room which was twin beds, we went back to reception where we were told we had booked a twin room, I produced our booking confirmation which confirmed we had booked a double room, at this we were asked to take a seat and wait, we waited for sometime before we were given a key to our new room, as soon as we entered the room it smelt of urine. By this point we had had enough, we went to the reception complained and booked out and left, we were not offered a refund or anything. Now to add to it a week and a half later we have received a £60 fine from parkingeye for being in the Mercure car park for 53 minutes, I have been trying to phone the hotel for over 2 hours and the calls just ring out. I have appealed the fine but I should never of got one in the first place. Never again will I think because the room was cheap I got a good deal.

  The cocktails were well made and competitively priced (although regular drinks are a little over-priced). Well furnished with polite staff. Particularly enjoyed the live acoustic music which makes a nice change to the music being played in other venues.
