Mettricks Old Town in Southampton

  When choosing coffee shops in Southampton I came across Mettrick’s which was advertised as ‘bringing better coffee to southampton’ - to our surprise, they instead brought us luke warm coffee and a burnt, overpriced toastie

  Spencer has done a brilliant job with all the mettricks. Sad I'm no longer there to have a nice white hot chocolate.

  This is the 3rd or 4th time I have had a terrible takeaway sandwich from mettricks old town, even had to take them back twice, which is a pain when you go there on your tea break. The picture cost me something like £4.60 for an abysmal cold and burnt bacon bap, over £14 for two coffees and 2 of these baps. The other mettricks in town seem to be fine but the old town one is consistently awful.

  I'm a big support of Mettricks, though until their Bargate location recently closed I had neglected the Old Town location. Various Union Roast coffees are on the menu, and I especially like their Rwandan single origin. Great spot to find an old leather sofa and just relax.

  Buzzy atmosphere but more intimate than Guildhall Square. Great food and coffee but only serves drinks and small bites in the evening. Good venue for group meet ups
