Myrtle House comes up in internet searches for hotels, but really it is an old-style English bed-and-breakfast/guest-house, with 8 rooms. While we were there, most of the other rooms were occupied by quiet, respectful business types, some from abroad, some on a kind of semi-long-term basis (Garforth is not a big tourist town, after all). Hosts Geoff and Sue are an older couple, very sweet, attentive and eager to please. The house itself is old, as opposed to ancient, but reasonably clean and well looked-after. The shared bathroom and toilet might be a deal-breaker for some people, but we only shared with one other person, and it was right next door to our room, and so not really a problem. The included breakfast consists of variations on the "full English breakfast", with additional cereal, yoghurt, fruit, etc, and our request for a vegetarian version presented no difficulty. On the morning that we had to leave REALLY early, they just left the cereals and fruit out for us, which was nice. There is also a kettle, tea and instant coffee in the room. Parking is on-street, but easy and free, and although the house is located on a main road, it (or our room at least) is still quiet, while being just a short walk to the facilities and restaurants of Main Street. The whole place is a bit of a throw-back - no website, no email, no online booking, no credit cards for God's sake, just a phone number and cash-on-arrival. But it is at least quite a pleasant throw-back. Don't expect frills or luxury, just good solid Yorkshire hospitality and pretty good value at GBP60 for a double room.
