::The hotel as the name demonstrates is old. But it is good and cosy for a short trip. I really liked the hot bath in the room in the middle of the cold weather. It reminded me of old Iranian baths. The guy served us at the reception was really friendly. There were no slippers in the room. Thanks

::I don't normally eat in hotel restaurants. But glad I did as the food was fantastic in a lovely restaurant with a great view over princess street. Room was better than expected and just like the pics on the website. You can't get anymore central than here. Really nice staff throughout the hotel too. Only downside due to it being a historical building there are stairs so definitely not ideal for prams or wheelchairs. There is a lift from the reception which is located on floor one.

::Wasn't expecting much but beautifully decorated room. Comfy bed. Had evening bar meal and breakfast there. Staff were excellent and helpful. One and only downside was there is alot of stairs until u get up to first floor n the reception. Awkward with a pushchair, baby n baggage but the rest made up for that inconvenience. Cheaper parking available with this stay which saved us 50% (£10).

::Comfy room, if not a bit dated but still nice. Bar menu and food was nice, as was the breakfast. Would use again. Jan 2018: Have been three times now on recent visits, the staff are brilliant and so helpful! it's a charming place that just feels really nice and welciming. Have really fallen for the place, very relaxing.

::Firstly, this is a very old building and has the challenges that come with this. The hotel is above the shops and as such you have to go upstairs to get to reception. There is no lift for this nor is there room. There is a bell if you need help. The lift in the hotel is very small (4 people max) and is the only one so if there is a problem you have to use the stairs. Again, there is no was to change this. The location is excellent, right next to Waverley station and, for our stay, right opposite the Christmas market etc. Our room was on the top floor (6) and so the view was excellent albeit through small round windows. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay again but you have to set your expectations remembering the age and nature of the place. If you struggle for mobility request a low floor room and if you can't do stairs look elsewhere.
