Owner informed us it was not a 'quiet and peaceful site' due to the proximity of the motorway. £34 a night for 2 adults, 2 children, a dog and an electric hook up. Easily accessible just off the motorway. Pub within walking distance, and also a Petrol station with McDonalds close by. Driveway up to the site had passing places Ssite small but immaculate about 6 hard standings, 2 of which were in use, a pod, and the ribs of a teepee (obviously for use in better weather) and some grass pitches. It had been carefully fenced secure for dogs and children. Grassy areas although a bit muddy were mowed and tidy, space on the hard standing for the caravan and the car. Pitch was pretty level especially from side to side with just some adjustment needed from front to back. Each pitch had a grassy area with large sturdy picnic bench. Toilet block and showers were portakabins, immaculately clean and scrupulously well kept just like the rest of the site. Gravelled area next to the building with a covered washing up area, freezer, water and waste disposal and bins including a separate dog waste bin, and information about the site and the local area. This also included things you could hire during your stay such as fire pits and bbq's, and even a dog sitting service There were also some ride on toys for small children to play with. There was a dog walking field across the driveway. Arriving back late in the evening (around midnight) we settled quickly to sleep and I didn't notice the nearby motorway at all. However upon waking at about 5am I was very aware of the noise then and did struggle to get back to sleep - although the rest of the family were unaffected by it. Met owner on second day and got the impression that he took great pride in the site and was keen for guests to have a good stay. In summary a great site, a perfect stopover if you are on your way across to the Isle of Wight, or if you are visiting some of the many attractions in the area such as Paultons Park or Marwell Zoo, and perfect for us for visiting family in the area. It lost a star because of the proximity of the motorway which can be noisy, but for some people that could be a plus!

You could not hope for a friendlier welcome than at this well appointed and very thoughtfully operated site. The high quality toilet and shower blocks, and sink area, are well-cleaned daily. The attentive owner is often on hand for advice or assistance. All plots have power and own picnic table. Other helpful conveniences are provided, such as children's outdoor toys and use of a freezer for cool-box blocks. The nearby Mortimer Arms is perfect for an evening meal, and Peppa Pig World is walkable. Bring suitable supplies as the nearest shopping area is a moderate drive afar. We will definitely return to this family-friendly site.

We spent two nights in the pod at the campsite. I have to say it is a very good little campsite. Good shower facilities and very hospitable welcome from the owner, John. The camping pod has everything you might need including, TV, DVDs for the kids, double bed and beds for the kids so all we had to take were Duvet covers. Worth noting you can hear the drone of the M27 close by but we got used to it and it didn't affect our sleep or anything. We loved the location as two pubs in walking distance to eat at and also could walk over the road to Paulton's Park. Would highly recommend for a short stay camping expedition.

Fantastic site. I've never been anywhere with more attentive and lovely owners, they really went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. It's a lovely small site and is spotless and so well looked after. The field is lovely and flat and the pitches are good sizes. The toilets and showers are in trailers but are spotless and I was so impressed with the little touches such as tissues and cotton wool pads next to the mirror in the ladies. There is a lovely undercover area for washing dishes as well as a freezer for your ice blocks. They also rent out pretty much anything that you may have forgotten which is a godsend if like us, you forget your electric hook up cable! It's a lovely back to basics site - we loved that there were no fancy kids play areas. Instead they've got loads of ride on toys and sports equipment for the kids to use and it was lovely seeing them all playing together and having fun. The site is next to the motorway but to be honest, you don't really notice it as there's a huge embankment and lots of trees separating the road from the site anyway. We'll definitely be back - we've never been to a nicer site!
