Nice hotel very homely close ish to town. Great staff. Showers are a bit weak though.

Clean, well maintained, a good room for the night. Breakfast was a nice, simple continental buffet with enough gluten free choice. I have stayed in quite a few Cambridge hotels and B&B over the years. Overpriced and shabby seems to have been the norm for too long. It is encouraging to find new and refurbished hotels, like the Regent, raising the bar. It helps make Cambridge a more pleasant place to visit.

We stayed for 13 nights and any issues were minor really. It's certainly a nice building in a great location, watching & listening to the activities on Parkers Piece, every night, is certainly interesting. The narrow corridors and awkward stairs were a bit of a letdown, and if you arrive with more than a few suitcases, you're in for a challenge getting them to your room, there's no help with that at all. There is a very tiny elevator that will accommodate a large suitcase and a person, but depending on where you are in the hotel you may have to haul all of your stuff through the narrow corridors separated by multiple doors to get to your room. I think most of the high room cost is due to location, the executive room was a little smaller than I expected. But ultimately the staff were friendly and helpful, the continental breakfasts were good, the hotel is clean and in a great location, so all in all I'd definitely recommend The Regent Hotel, for your visit to Cambridge.
