::Had quite a negative experience here a few weeks ago and have been looking for somewhere to post it to share this. I went to look at hamsters, there was a lady handling them (glasses) she must have usually done this because she was EXTREMELY overprotective of them saying she doesn't give hamsters away to 'just anyone' and 'usually people actually think about if they want one not just go and buy one randomly'. I have owned several hamsters in the past and although she has the right to protect animals, she didn't ask me once how prepared I was, and this diabolical customer service from one lady ruined my trip and I will never return. It happened about 3 or 4 weeks ago but still will never go back because of this. I went to pets at home and I can safely say the lady serving me there was amazing!! Apart from that, lovely shop and otherwise lovely staff (apart from that one lady).

::Very good local pet shop. Got my new hamster from there after not wanting to go back to a certain large chain pet shop after having health problems with hamsters from there. The staff are always friendly and the hamsters seem well looked after. They are happy for you to just have a look at the hamsters and after deciding that I wanted one of the males, they went through everything and ensured that I knew how to look after him properly. They don't have a massive selection of toys really for hamsters but what they do have is reasonably priced. Food, sawdust and bedding are all priced well with a good selection. Would not hesitate to buy another hamster from them as mine is extremely happy and tame.
