  Went for afternoon tea. Ample food well presented and reasonable as offer on Groupon. Lovely ambience in the dining room and very pleasant staff.

  In a year or so, they're going to have finished reno-ing this place and it's probably going to be way out of my budget range, because it's a stunning old building two minutes from the train station, the city centre, and the castle, with beautiful high-ceilinged rooms and a ballroom/restaurant. In addition, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Basically, if you're headed to Lancaster, stay here while you can :)

  The afternoon tea was not very nice. No pride with the chefs. You could tell it was made in advance. Everything was stale. Wouldn't come back unfortunately. The 1 star was for the building being quite remarkable.

  A me è piaciuta tantissimo la sua aria un po' Dickensiana. Struttura datata, sicuramente, ma questo aggiunge fascino e non lo toglie. Pulizia accettabile, kit colazione sempre rifornito, posizione ottima, prezzo il migliore della zona. Camere luminose, spazi ampi, specie gli esterni, personale cortese e sorridente. Unica lamentela: forse siamo state sfortunate ma l'ascensore/montacarichi è una vera piaga, si rompe di continuo e quando non è rotto si blocca perché qualcuno al piano lascia la porta scorrevole socchiusa.
