The Safestay hostel was quite a nice place to stay, nice common area with pool tables and a bar. The food is OK, nothing spectacular but if you go just a block away you can find decent food at restruants. As a tall person the beds we decently long and the duvets we also long enough to cover all of me which has been a problem at other hostels I've stayed at in Scotland. The beds were comfortable as well some type of foam. Not really thick but enough to make it comfortable. My only complaint would be that during the weekend they have very loud music in the common area which is basically right below the sleeping places. The music was loud enough that I could hear it on the fourth floor in my bedroom going until 2AM or so. If you sleep light this may not be the place for you.

Not the cheapest hostel i have stayed in and cleanliness left a bit to be desired. Location is good as it is around 15 minute walk from waverley train station. Bar closed when I got back but some people ( staff and friends I presume) sat with drinks which was annoying. Wont be rushing back.

Safe and clean hostel. The showers should be updated look a bit to much used and the ventilation inside need a better maintenance.

One of the best hostel I have stayed in. My room was very nice, with 5 beds women only. Very clean, enough space, good temperature, comfortable beds with personal lights and plugs, enough lockers, no noise from outside, big nice towels. There is a bar where you can have a drink at night and a nice breakfast in the morning. In top of that, it was February and the price was amazing! If I go back to Edinburgh I am going to stay there again for sure.

An excellent place to stay in the heart of Edinburgh. Really nicely decorated, not a flea pit like some indies are like. Close to Princess St, The Mile and Waverly Station too. Would stay again and for the price you can't go wrong.
