  A most delightful place to visit and to get away from the hustle and bustle of South London. The lower entrance is to be found at Cox's Walk on the South Circular towards Forest Hill. The upper entrance is located in Crescent Wood Road towards Sydenham Hill. The wildlife and flora here is both diverse and a joy to spot whist walking around the well marked and descriptive trail. Look out for the "ruin folly" on the trail too. Worth looking out for is the tunnel of the old railway line that ran through the woods towards Upper Sydenham station from Lordship Lane station, which closed in 1954. The wood is also part of the Green Chain Walk
