::Turned up between half two and three on a Sunday. Restaurant couldn't fit us in but the helpful girl behind the reception suggested we could dine in the bar area and just order from the bar, so we did. The menu was varied and well-priced, the portions were generous when they arrived, the food was wonderfully prompt and the staff were flawless. We got asked once (the correct number of times) how everything was, and we weren't interrupted in order to be asked the question; many (MANY) restaurants could and should learn from that. The food was exceptional for the price too. I had soup of the day followed by roast lamb, and the lamb was thick and generously piled on, with an enormous fluffy Yorkshire and enough gravy to keep everything just the right side of moist. Mrs From Saturday had garlic mushrooms to start (which she finished - that being her barometer of excellence) followed by halloumi and veg skewers which she polished off too with no room for pud. From Saturday Junior had the sausage and mash with extra peas and even HE finished his meal, with a massive thumbs up after (before acting the post-dinner wally and getting his leg stuck between the Chesterfield seats somehow). The place was lively and friendly without being too much and it was all round a quality Sunday afternoon out. Will definitely go back. Bang. On.

::As always it was another lovely Sunday lunch at The Blue Boar. We had starters of Ribs, & Bruschetta's followed by roast pork and roast beef. Service and food as always was brilliant. Lovely atmosphere here because of lovely staff

::Such a lovely dinner in The Blue Boar, I had the ribs and chicken combo. It came with chips and a side salad and was delicious. Staff are so friendly & a really nice atmosphere!
