  A beautiful and homely pub with lovely polite staff and a good choice of food and drink, just need more seating for non food customers.

  Excellent place to stay if visiting Bristol or Bath and want to drive in. Very close to motorway exit (too far for noise though). We visited our daughter at UWE: 10 mins from there. Food was great: averagely priced. Room was fab, outside the main pub in a courtyard of 9 rooms. Great bath! Need to book on advance as very popular with travellers. Genuinely dog friendly too.

  Excellent ambience, service and food! The new managers were extremely attentive. Cosy real fire. The food was delicious, superbly presented and perfect portion size. Great that the chicken is free-range. Same prices as other pub food but so much better. Our whole party was impressed with our food and we are fussy/snobby eaters! Highly recommended. We'll definitely be stopping off here next time we pass. Menu suggestions that could be added in the future?: Fillet Steak main and Sizzling Garlic Prawns with olive oil a touch of chilli and bread starter. A really pleasant and relaxing experience on a weekday evening.

  Lovely meal at The Crown. Everything, food, menu, decor, staff very nice except acoustics. Not kind to deaf ears!

  I like the crown. Always looks inviting and is. Met a colleague for coffee. Not eaten this time but have previously and it was v good. Friendly atmosphere and team. Loos (and on the way to the loos) really do need a refresh. Hence the 4 star.
