  Bad stay unfortunately. Nice people however building although old and charming is too outdated. Shower has no pressure and no cold water. Burnt myself. Also there's been strong wind during the night, the whole building was shaking. My bed was moving. Funny experience.

  Absolutely lovely hotel large clean rooms with an excellent breakfast and in a convenient location for both road and rail.

  Lovely coaching inn hotel with good sized rooms and good common facilities. Breakfast menu is good with helpful service. Reasonably priced, some rooms are in a newer annexe, check room location when booking. Hotel is a short walk from the local village, shops and pubs.

  The hotel itself is lovely but is badly let down by the restaurant. It is a quaint hotel set in pleasant grounds and has spacious and tastefully decorated rooms. When we arrived the staff were extremely warm and friendly and were very helpful with checking us in and helping with taxi bookings. The restaurant was an entirely different experience. The heating was on very high during summer and it was far too hot. We ordered a bottle of sparkling wine however this had not been chilled and was served to us warm. The starters were very nice. For the main course we ordered a fillet steak cooked medium rare. The steak which arrived did not look like fillet despite being charged as such. It had been cooked medium well done. When the waitress asked if everything was ok with the steak we mentioned that it was overcooked which she relayed this to the kitchen. We then overheard the chef loudly protesting that there is no such thing as a medium rare and if we wanted another we would have to wait 30 minutes. This was odd as there were only 2 people in the restaurant. No apology was given and we were not offered the option of a replacement. We told the waitress that we could overhear this conversation. Despite this, when the food was collected they continued regardless and loudly exclaimed that they were unhappy we had wasted the food. We also heard the chef admit that the steaks were cooked in advance and re-heated to reduce the time between courses. We actually felt the courses were served too close together. This does however show that we would have been served the same steak regardless of how we asked for it cooked. The issue with the food was forgiveable and could have been so easily rectified if handled properly. The handling by the chef and the waitress was appalling. Nice hotel but badly let down by the restaurant.

  A lovely clean homely hotel, with friendly staff. I left some clothes behind and didn't realise for a good week or so. To the hotels credit all my items were saved and handed back to me in full. An enjoyable stay
