  Really incredible experience in the Merchant. Upgraded to a suite as we were recently engaged which was above and beyond our expectations. Staff are very friendly and helpful and genuinely show care for the service they give. The restaurants on site are brilliant too, great menu and varied wine list which is alway a plus for us. The restaurant staff dealt with my partners allergies very well and it was never a problem whatsoever. Highly recommend this hotel and it’s restaurants, will 100% visit again in the future.

  The Merchant Hotel is such a grand, magnificent building - think colossal crystal chandeliers, enormous fireplaces and extravagant furnishings, with intricate oil paintings hanging on the wall. The cocktails here are widely regarded as the best in Belfast, each served with a metal straw which apparently makes them taste better - and does wonders for the environment! I would love to go back here and try the food someday.

  First time in the merchant hotel and I'm blown away. The ambience is amazing and attention to detail is 2nd too none. The staff are absolutely amazing with 1st class food. Don't think about going to this hotel Do it!!!!!

  Visited "The Great Room" for the first time with my wife for a special night out. The dining room itself is certainly impressive, with its huge chandelier and beautiful architecture that makes you feel like royalty for the night. The waiters were friendly and helpful and added to the experience. We ate of the "Winter Offer" menu and both thought it was hard to fault (the main course of beef melted in my mouth). It was not outrageously priced that evening for the fine dining experience we had although the standard menu and tasting menus are considerably more expensive so be aware. The wine was also on the expensive side but the bottle we treated ourselves too was excellent (Argentine Malbec). We certainly enjoyed the experience and would recommend a visit for a special occasion but do check before you go what menus are currently running so you know how much your evening will cost.

  Wow. Now this is 5 star at it's finest the hotel is so beautiful and such friendly staff. Staying in the old Victoria part of the hotel and it's amazing. The staff and service are just first class. So much history in this beautiful hotel. Very happy delighted to be here at such a magical place. The only place to stay in Belfast
