Went for a quiet work drink on a Wednesday night and the barmaid (having served one of us already) refused to serve the rest of a party a drink because we were allegedly a ‘large group’ with only 6 others waiting for a pint. Quite baffled and bemused we all left to find somewhere else for a drink and won’t be frequently this establishment again. We have been before and had no trouble but this evening is enough to put us off.

Friendly atmosphere with a great live venue upstairs....typical city centre pub prices...but a very good pub...you could do worse believe me....

My favorite Pub in Oxford (nice people, nice music, nice place and nice place) I from Portugal and unfortunately we don't have a pub as this.

Supreme rock pub. All the expected crowd, very friendly, great live shows and a good range of drinks that they keep well. Very friendly and efficient staff. Honest pub, run well and with no pretentions.

The best hole in the wall bar in Oxford. Be prepared and forewarned. This is not the bar for everyone. People jockey to load the jukebox with their particular tastes, and a lot of that leans to the heavier, metal side of rock. The staff are get the job done people. Took my (American) Mom there and she asked for a glass of prosecco and the bartender looked at her like bugs were crawling out of her eyes. They do red or white, and no idea if it's a 'chardonnay' or not. The pool table is always in use and they have a winner stays on policy. I consider this my 'local', and when I go out to drink, this is where I go. It is noisy, filled with tattooed, pierced, black clothes wearing people. It often has live music, and smoking is rampant in the crowded alley. If you are looking for cocktails and mood lighting, move along, this is not the place for you. If you want real people, good drinks, loud music, and a lot of fun...this is the place.
