  Great shop with plenty of stock to choose from, a range of different types of whisky to suit all budgets. Very helpful staff that were very knowledgeable about the products on sale. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who is interested in whisky or looking for Whisky themed gifts.

  Wonderful friendly and knowledgeable staff who are clearly passionate about fine whisky. I always pop in when I'm in York to pick up something special. This place is certainly one of the city's gems!

  Great customer service and really knowledgeable and charming staff will go out of their way to help you. Gavin is very passionate about whiskey and makes a great team along with Rob. Great specialised shop

  On my birthday we decided to walk in at 16:55 for a quick browse for some whiskey. The shop assistants were dealing with a couple at the checkout. Once they finished one of them asked my mum what we're looking for. She said "we're just having a look at the minute." He said "right well we're shutting soon so..." My mum replied "I know we'll leave soon". He gave us a really dirty appalled look and looked around the shop dramatically. He turned to the other assistant and said "err we close at 5pm sharp don't we?" The other assistant agreed. He said "alright then close the shutters". While we're still in the shop. We awkwardly walked to the exit and they didn't say a word, quickly slamming the door shut behind us. Does this make them pretentious? Greedy? Lazy? I'll let you decide. But I won't be shopping there again.

  Absolutes loved this whisky shop when I visited York October 2016. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and helped me to find a few family Christmas presents, as well as a little something for myself. Got another one of these shops near where I'm from but the service from the York store is far superior
