  This pub has just been refurbished, mainly decor. We ordered and told 40 minutes wait. We waited 55 mins. The food is basic fare so really that wait was unfounded. Plate was hot chips and peas cold and fish scalding burning mouth. The Gammon was overcooked. At least 8 people came in during our but left without eating or drinking. Used to go there a few times a month but not sure if we go again soon.

  The pub looks great, after the refurb. Took the family for lunch, love the food. The staff are polite, helpful and happy. Will be back again soon.

  Lovely welcome as we entered. Was asked if wanted a table for 4- replied no thanks not yet as we are waiting for another. We was told ok well can you move and go into the bar area so you are not taking up space. Ha we hadn’t even had chance to get through the door. Miserable bar staff, beer was flat, no straws for the kids, and to be quite honest looking at the food being dished out I’m glad we was treated so rudely and left as it looked pretty poor. Atmosphere? What atmosphere just a bunch of miserable faces in a miserable pub. Never mind there is a MUCH better pub with MUCH better food 15 second drive up the road 👍👍👍 Makes The Hornet in rochdale look like a 5* Michelin restaurant which should sum this place up. I know it’s in Heywood but to get treated like your a leper from Oldham is disturbing. I may not sleep tonight 😂😂😂 we are now sat outside freezing with our flat beer... marvellous experience! But a midget wearing a bright orange has just told us what do you expect you are in the middle of Heywood, Langley and Middleton...inbred capital of Europe... I love it here really! See u next week for more ignorance. Thanks for your hospitality.

  lovely place yo eat well priced and food is great. gets busy and sometimes there can be a wait for food but its worth the wait.

  Good grub at unbeatable prices and always piping hot and plenty of it. Decent beer and a big car park. As good as it gets! !
