Lovely modern pub. Great food, Friendly efficient staff. Room small but clean and comfortable. Easy walking distance to town centre. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic place- great staff, CLEAN and spotless throughout and amazing food. Met by very helpful staff who showed us to our room. Stayed for one night in a small double overlooking the quay. Its a close walk to town. Served breakfast by the loveliest woman (Diane) who couldn't have made us more welcome. I will absolutely be coming back. Fantastic price especially for the pleasure of being in such a friendly, clean and enjoyable environment. Highly recommended :)

Lovely pub with excellent food. I has the scallops which were a little small and bacon a little chewy. The pork belly for main was superb melt in your mouth, very tasty accompaniment. Great wine choice. Excellent service, lovely atmosphere.

Really nice place with friendly, attentive staff. Food was very good indeed...very tasty, everything cooked to perfection (including steaks and scallops). Plenty of choice on the menu. Completely revamped after the flooding a few years back but somehow it has retained a little character. Good mix of folk in there and a really friendly atmosphere. We recently visited on a Wednesday night and there were a few quiet drinkers at the bar and plenty diners in. Quite an upmarket place to go for a pint. Booking advised (for dining, not drinking, obviously). More formal dining area to the front, less formal at the back where they were able to accommodate the dog we had with us!

Quiet location just outside of and within easy walking distance to the city. Rooms at the front have a lovely view over the River Lune. The bedroom was compact but had everything we needed, including hot chocolates and a hairdryer. The bathroom had a spacious shower with lots of hot water. Although the rooms are above a pub, we heard no noise and weren't disturbed. Breakfast was fine; smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was a highlight. The staff and manageress were friendly and made us feel welcome. We thought it was good value and would return.
