::We booked this guest house for a few nights as we had several days of appointments in Southampton. It was comfortable enough, in a good location, with hearty cooked breakfast included; enough to keep us going for the day. It was easy to get transport throughout the city as bus stops are only a few minutes walk away. Unfortunately the noise of other guests, rather than the quiet surrounds, grated after a while. The motion activated lighting became a little irritating, especially in the bathroom when it turned off during my shower. The house was also quite dusty, not dirty in the important areas, but it's a little off putting. Overall I would recommend this accommodation and thank the hostess for holding our luggage for a few hours after we had departed.

::Nice b&b with very reasonable prices. We stayed for one night over the august bank holiday and it had everything we needed. Great breakfast too.

::This my first negative feedback on Trip Advisor after 20 years of working away on business! I recently booked two rooms at Argyle Lodge for three nights for myself and my work colleague. please see my experience below Very weak shower going from scalding hot to cold. Unable to sleep due to a really cheap inferior quality mattress which had an undulating surface do to the springs ( apparently a brand new mattress!) - I had to place a blanket underneath the sheet and then lie on top of the quilt to make this bearable. Lack of privacy - No sound insulation in the walls, as a result, being able to hear guests whilst using their bathroom and them being able to hear me - The gentleman next to me asked if I could turn my TV down. it was already at a low volume, I turn this off so that I did not disturb him When awake at 2 am because of the mattress I was unable to get back to sleep due to the snoring from next door. Disturbance from people shouting in the street in the early hours When I enquired about the faulty shower there was no apology for the inconvenience caused just many excuses to why it couldn't possibly be faulty. This left me as the customer feeling as if I was in the wrong and that is was making this up. I was greeted with a discourteous and unprofessional attitude from the Landlord! My colleague was also not satisfied particularly with the Mattress and also noise from the street I have been using hotels and Bed and Breakfast for business for many years this is the first time that I have been asked for the payment upfront! I paid this in good faith. The following morning after almost a sleepless night I approached the Landlady and explained that I was not satisfied. I was willing to pay for the previous night for myself and my colleague but would like a refund for the two nights as we would be finding accommodation elsewhere. I was shocked when this was refused! This bed and breakfast have been thrown together on a budget it is 3 star at best! the owners have the wrong characters to run a business in this service industry. Don't be fooled by the website ( Google Adwords must pay off !)we found a really nice establishment on the same road I will be writing a positive review for them after I have finished this one. I am currently in the process of recovering the full amount from my bank. Stayed March 2017

::Nice quiet B&B with really great and clean rooms. The location is app 20 minutes by foot from the city centre and in the city centre you find Old Town which is worth a visit. Good breakfast with a bit limited choices but very well tasting.
