  This must be one of the worst garages in Edinburgh, honestly..Left my car for the MOT and ended up with a bunch of loose screws under the bonet, squeaky front breaks and knocking sound coming from under the car. The bulb that was changed went after a couple of days. Didn't even bother to check the wiring and charged through the nose. Save yourself trouble and avoid at all cost.

  Very dishonest garage. Stay away! Charged us £90 to fix our car. We broke down on the motorway with 2 babies in the car. Later found out he never did anything in the car and new the car would eventually break down.

  The mechanic told me he changed the 'pencil coil' as my car was misfiring. He knew I was on holiday and I was due to leave Edinburgh so he did something to make the car run only for a bit. I broke down in the middle of M6 on my way back to Birmingham. My 10-month old twins had the worst day of their lives... Nightmare! The mechanic from Ashbrook Motor Services did not change the part I paid £90 for, but instead, he sanded off the serial number of the old part so I couldn't complaint. Dirt remains visible and I very much doubt he ever unscrewed the faulty part. Never again.

  I TOOK MY CAR FOR MOT TO BE HONEST I DONT THINK THE CAR SHOULD HAVE PASSED.THE CAR WAS FILTHY WHEN I WENT TO COLLECT IT.GROTTY PLACE,AND RUDE

  I've been using Ashbrook for a couple of years. I was referred here by a previous partner who had her car serviced and repaired here for a few years. She said that she liked the garage, and had never felt ripped off when repairs needed done. I think this garage is an excellent and honest place. When I get my car repaired, even for the smallest thing, I always feel like the price is very reasonable. The garage owner is very pleasant, and honest. In the past I had a problem with a battery light on the dashboard. He checked the alternator and all associated mechanics and said he felt it was an electrical problem, he referred me to a motor electrician, and when I asked how much I owed him for checking the car out, he said it wouldn't cost anything. I've since had faulty sensors changed, services, etc... and feel comfortable referring my own mother to the garage. I normally don't post reviews, but I feel, since it took me such a long time to find a garage I felt comfortable with, it deserves the review.
