::Absolutely dreadful hotel. Came here just for one night after visiting Nottingham university, and I cannot express how much this room completely ruined the trip. When we arrived in the hotel room, we were greeted by thick layers of dust everywhere and mouldy windows. It was snowing outside, and clearly the heating wasn’t working at all since it was like a fridge in the room. We did make a complaint and the staff were very helpful and brought up an electric heater, however this didn’t even seem to do much. However we were offered some free drinks so we made our way down through the maze of stairs to the bar. Unfortunately throughout the hotel corridors there was a strong aroma of urine, and of course the cold breeze from the lack of modern day central heating. And when we came down to the bar to get our free drinks, we were delighted to find a hole in the glass ceiling which meant that we got to enjoy the snow showers from inside the bar! On all costs I would avoid this hotel!

::One of our favourite places in the East Midlands. Gorgeous walks, excellent menu and quaint restaurant, open fire, beautiful gardens and regular events such as Murder Mystery nights! :)

::Disappointed: Checked this place out of a Wedding We came to look around the grounds for a wedding and although set in the country park it seemed beautiful on paper, however on closer inspection this place could really do with some care in the surrounding area. Everywhere you look there are bags of dog poo attach to trees and just thrown in the path. There are bins to put them in but they are not used for whatever reason and those who do litter are not picked up. There is also a lot of plastic in hedges too and when you start to look even closer just puts you off on how the park is not looked after. So with children around we thought it was too dangerous with the poo bags and decided against using this place. Not stayed in the rooms so can't comment but it was having somewhere "in nature" the reason we looked at it.

::We booked two nights here as part of a touring holiday. My partner stayed years ago and wanted stay again. Reception, bar area and dining room are all nicely decorated, the corridors and our room are a bit tired. (Looked nothing like the modern rooms on the web site). The bed was comfortable and the room and en-suite were clean. The staff were nice and they couldn't do enough for me when I asked about gluten free, the food was delicious. Breakfast is buffet style, help yourself and we were informed we could have poached or fried eggs if wished. We enjoyed our stay and to be fair we didn't pay a huge amount for B&B. It was much better than a dearer hotel we paid for. I'd go back.
