  A favourite haunt, the laid back public spaces offer wifi, seating and a good vibe. The movie selection is an eclectic mix of old classics, restored forgotten gems, indie stuff and current hits. The cinemas are comfy, the coffee is hot and the mediatheque room offers hours of footage for free that you can really lose yourself in. I love the Library bar at the back for drinks and lite bites.

  This was my first time at the BFI Southbank, a great venue to see world cinema/art house films that are not on a wider release. The theatre was vibrant and buzzing on the Friday night I went with a nice bar on site to relax before or afterwards with friends. Easy to get to with a number of tube stations close by and a great scenic setting on the Thames with lots to do and see elsewhere close by. Recommend if you like these genre of films.

  Great option that is often overlooked. The studio is tiny, less than 50 seats, and feels like a big tv in a sitting room but for the right film it is great. The shop is well worth a visit with some fun merchandise and as you would expect a great range of films but at a surprisingly reasonable price.

  One of my favourite places in London, without question. Amazing atmosphere at their inside bar, at the other bar you've got the views of the river and hustle and bustle of Southbank, especially on the weekend. One of the few places in London that still screens great cinema as well as new releases. Fun, creative vibe and a lovely hangout space.

  I love BFI Southbank. They always show great movies both recent and old ones. The atmosphere is very vibrant and you feel connected to the people around as they share similar interests with you. The chairs in the theatres are very comfortable and there is minimum of adverts before screenings. The only area the BFI Southbank is not great is the availability of places to eat. Thier main restaurant, Riverfront, has reduced the offering down to burgers and fish and chips. There is another place but it's more expensive. The area around is also a bit tricky to get a dinner.
