  I have stayed here 3 times without incident, and I’ll stay there again in the future, but last week, they double booked my room, and I had to stay in one of their hostel rooms, instead of the single room I had initially booked. This room was very hot, but opening a window meant that the very loud bass from nearby club Lab11 made it hard to sleep. I like a dance to Camelphat’s magnum opus “cola” as much as the next man, but not in an overly hot hostel while trying to sleep :P The people that work here really are delightful, but in future, if you want to guarantee yourself a room, book direct from the hostel’s website.

  This place is a paradox. The floor is very clean, bathroom and facilities too. But the bedding is so badly infested with dust mites, I couldn't sleep all night! In the morning my nose felt clogged, sneezing, my body itchy :-( Dirty, old, dusty duvets are worse than dirty floor or kitchen, BECAUSE THEY ARE IN CONSTANT CONTACT WITH THE BODY WHEN SLEEPING! Management therefore must be very stupid. Bed had extremely squeeky mattress. Some idiots were loud on the corridor after 12pm for a long time, but obviously the live-in receptionist won't intervene because its out of his working hours.

  As a solo female backpacker I did not feel safe travelling to and from the hostel from Birmingham New Street at night. Security was lacking, keycards were just thrown into a publically accessible cupboard for 'check out'. The doors had to be shut hard to require a lock to open, not a problem if you're the one shutting it but others are not so careful. The shared rooms were adequate for the price paid, although could do with air conditioning and better filtration. They were small and warmed up quickly with several people in the room, this caused a distinct damp smell. Beds were very squeaky, woke the room up whenever someone turned in the night. The showers and toilets were clean. Breakfast and unlimited tea and coffee was good for being included in the price. Staff were mostly friendly, although I overheard a less than private, slightly uncouth conversation between a cleaner and receptionist on someone who had 'swapped' beds (me) as another person had decided to sleep in mine when I arrived, which I flagged to the cleaner myself. Was upsetting to hear whilst having breakfast in the common area.

  All staff were great. The building was old. Even though they cleaned you can not say its clean because off decoration and furniture etc. The bed was old and was not comfortable as well. it's so cheap. If you don't mind stay there.

  Excellent hostel with good breakfast and a big screen where you can see movies. Friendly staff and clean rooms. I recommend it also for its location as it is really close to the center and to the bus station. Really convenient if you want to catch a flight in the morning.
