  Going to B&Q is a singularly depressing experience and I don't wish it on anyone. They don't stock basic DIY items but have shelves stacked to the ceiling with pointless, consumerist nonsense. The staff are not helpful, and even if they wanted to be they have neither the experience or knowledge. Please use any other hardware store whenever possible, shop local when you can! UNFORTUNATE FACT - GOING TO B&Q INCREASES YOUR RISK OF COMPLETED SUICIDE. SAD BUT TRUE.

  Ordered through click and collect, came the next day. Items not picked. Got items myself, and carried on with my day. This store suffers bad management that allow staff to blame everything else at the expense of just getting on with selling stuff efficiently. Don't bother with click and collect. The counter argument that they did indeed offer me a price reduction for the inconvenience (and granted I wasn't spending much) was under the circumstances all they could really do... my hourly rate is significantly higher than the commensurate goodwill offer (and let's face it - practically I don't see any sense in gouging businesses)... The fundamental fact remains - simple good management would have just had this as a non-issue.

  It was towards the end of the day when I visited but staff weren't particularly helpful when I asked for help finding a particular item. The directions I was given weren't easy to follow and when I said I couldn't find the item no-one offered to show me, or offered further help despite me looking lost. It wasn't clear who were staff or customers as many didn't have clear name badges. But the final member of staff who showed me where to go was very helpful despite being busy restocking shelves.

  A good size B&Q with a good range although they managed to block off ALL of the disabled parking bays with pallets of merchandise which really could have been placed else where & that's why I'm only giving it 3*. On the plus side, the staff are very helpful, especially Tiger Jade! You should ask for her if she's in the store, although paint is her speciality she is very knowledgeable about all aspects of DIY & very helpful around the store...
