commissioned them to make me some glasses for friends because i accidentally dropped them, their reproduction of the original was pretty much perfect...how can you beat that!

Bristol Blue Glass has a large double fronted shop on Bath Road, Bristol. It's right opposite the main entrance to Arnos Vale Cemetery. Upon entering the shop, you'll see an abundance of colourful and shiny items of glassware, cleverly highlighted by the instore lighting. Glasses, baubles and trinkets too many to mention, from the traditional Bristol Blue to a mirriad of colours from a rainbow. My wife and I wanted to suprise our ( grown up children ) with something a little different for Christmas, and we weren't disappointed. The members of staff were friendly and helpful. While there we took the opportunity to go downstairs to the glass blowing workshop, it was very warm there, owing to the glass furnaces going at full tilt. The glass blower guys were at work producing vaises in cobalt blue glass, as we sat there one of the staff was giving a running comentry on what was happening, and I must admit it was a very informative 15 minutes. Overall well worth a visit and would recommend.

Really enjoy visiting and love the glass, it is unique and magical, however some purchases have been found wanting. 1) The base of stopper in a scent bottle was rough & chipped, i returned it & has now been improved by sanding down. 2) tear drop necklace- the teardrop constantly fell out of the silver claw, it was exchanged but replacement still falls out, as the silver is too soft. 3) stud earrings - after two wears both studs came off the silver backs as i put them in - fed up with returning so husband glued them back on with Araldite. This is pretty poor and i must say has put me off any further purchases, especially jewellery, such a shame.

Blue glass shop and workshop. You can watch them making glass items and even have a go yourself! Pretty hot in there!

Much more to this retail outlet than just the city's renowned cobalt-blue glassware. Also mirrors, Tiffany lamps, jewellery and many other coloured glass goods, both decorative and practical.
