  You enter into an agreement with them under the terms of their "Booking Conditions" (BCs) which you should read and have to agree to. On attempting to pick up the car, the desk agent refused to provide the car quoting some general T&Cs which we had never seen (and were inconsistent with the BCs). A wasted journey and couple of fruitless calls to their call line, and one very rude agent: "What the Booking Conditions say is irrelevant; we apply our general T&Cs. Under no circumstances will we refund your payment, and we won't guarantee to keep the car until tomorrow for you to pick it up for the remainder of the hire term." He also refused to put this in writing. In the event we resolved the issue ourselves and managed to pick up the car three hours later after another 20 mile round trip. Nonetheless, under no circumstances could I recommend this company to anyone.

  Worst experience with a company ever. Withheld money after I cancelled a rental agreement (within agreed timescales) and customer service staff incredibly rude. Refused to give me details of their regulatory body.

  Best value car hire by a long way. Easy to book online. Sometimes you have to wait a bit to pick up your car and return it, as often there's only one person there (and they should give preference to the people there rather than the phone) but for the value really can't complain. Have used this branch many times, from a large moving van to a small car.

  Made an online booking a nearly a week in advance and travelled all the way only to be told there were no cars available. Refund could not be done immediately. Now I have to chase them for that. Will stick to Europcar thank you
