  I love the Cathedral, I really do. Stunning architecture, great views, quite friendly priests. However, I went to the Friday night bell-ringing practice (after a beautiful Evensong I might add!)... The tower secretary whom I had contacted was very welcoming, and seemed genuinely happy to have visitors. However, when I grabbed the rope for the tenor, an old man came right over, and said 'I'll take that, thank you!'. When I didn't he immediately said 'Were you ASKED to ring that bell?!', and pushed me away from it. It ruined my entire experience, and I felt shunned and ashamed. I would suggest that the Cathedral finds a new face as chief of it's bell-ringing staff. -=(+)=- On a lighter note, Do visit if you're in the area! It has some great features and the Cathedral staff are fairly friendly (compared to some c:)

  Beautiful place. Lovely misericords. Very interesting treasury. They shut the shop without warning about half an hour before the cathedral. Cafe wasn't open.
