  Great hotel, recommend staying at the hotel. The food and beer is good. But excellent beds and breakfast

  Caroline with her friendly staff gave us a warm welcome this afternoon, with the wood burner roaring away to escape from "The Beast From The East." Food was fantastic, ( PLEASE PASS ON MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEFS ) felt as if we we part of the family. Very clean everywhere,well done everybody, very impressive. We entered as strangers, left as friends.

  Stayed last year,room 3..attended a wedding.had a problem with a dirty bed..Was offered a complimentary Night.we returned,on the 25th Feb.the same room.Ok,quite noisy ..traffic noise.The room is at the front..The bed was uncomfortable,pillows very hard.the room is in dire need of an update,The furniture was well past its best.Carpets dirty.Would not pick that room,now we know,Over priced.. That being said,the staff were great,very polite,and attentive.We arrived in time for lunch,very nice.we also Had dinner.Again really tasty food.Breakfast good has well..The down stairs part of the hotel,is very comfortable The building is beautiful and it’s in a fantastic area. If all the rooms were like no,3 we would not go back.In fairness did not see the other rooms. This is a shame ,because Caroline,and staff work so hard to make you welcome. If there was an update/refit..this would be a fantastic stand alone hotel.Rather than an overspill for the wedding venue across the road.

  I wasn't that keen on the room I got in this place back in summer '17, but it certainly was spacious & they accommodated me very last minute after a mix up with my booking at another local hotel. I understand that many rooms have been updated too. Main reason I give them 4 stars is the lovely little restaurant, & the awesome chef, who talked me through my craving for a very particular mixture of food (after working away from home for a couple of months, & pining my own homemade meals!). Bless him, he knocked me up something perfect like an absolute star, delivered to my room, winning my undying gratitude!

  This is a good hotel, rooms generally comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant is good, with a good menu and enough choice. Food itself is ok, nearly great but not quite. The hotel is set around a courtyard so parking in there can be quite tight, especially if you arrive late. There is also parking out the front.
