  Today, I called into 'The Clarks Shop', [1 - 3 St John's Pavement, Grange Precinct, Birkenhead Merseyside]. I selected a pair of black boot type shoes, I was then informed that the subject boot / shoe, were not included in your current; so called '50% Off Sale'. When informed of the asking price, I was told £80 + plus. Hence, I agreed to purchase the selected black she / boot, howevewr, alas, I was informed that there were no sized 6 and a half in stock. Cosequently, I asked the assistant if I could order a pair; his answer, [in front of numerous witnesses], was...'No I'm afraid we can't do that'. When further asked how I could purchase the 'subject shoe / boot', I was informed to simply pop into the shop once a week! Is this what one would deem good customer service? I have purchased and worn Clark's shoes since I was a child; I'm now 62 years old. I consider the treatment I received today to absolutely incomprehensible!!!!!
