::Lovely afternoon tea. Could choose where/which room to eat and tea, scones, cakes and sandwiches were all gorgeous.

::Great place to stay. Have stayed in executive suit and courtyard room, both top quality, clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant is excellent as were the staff. Would definitely stay the there again.

::Nice hotel, restaurant served good dinner and lovely breakfast. Hotel bar was a nice place to relax in the evening. Stayed in an Oxford double - think the smaller rooms would have been too small for us. Two small niggles we had - the section of the hotel where our room was located was absolutely boiling (think the radiators needed massively turning down, even for January). Also, the cleaners were outside our room talking extremely loudly at 8:30/9:00 in the morning waking us up. For one night, wasn't an issue but any longer we would have been a bit annoyed. Saying that, good location and nice place. Would be back.

::We were a bit disappointed with the afternoon tea. The afternoon tea itself was good and the lounge room where we had it was pretty. However, when we first arrived the staff told us to wait in the lounge room and after 30 mins it became apparent they had forgotten us. Also, the two staff who served us didn't seem to know what they were doing. For example, when the afternoon tea arrived, the lady serving it put it precariously at the edge of the table. They also didn't check to see when we had finished, we had to go out again to get the bill. It's a shame. More training on the staff would help here.

::We stayed for a 3 night Christmas break with meals included. On arrival we were met with a warm welcome from one of the reception staff. The other receptionist seemed a little harassed. Nevertheless check-in was a seamless enough process and we were soon on our way to the room. This was clean and presentable, and there was a good selection of teas and coffee, along with complimentary bottles of still and sparkling water. The bathroom was also clean and provided complimentary soap, shampoo and shower gel. The food in the restaurant was tasty although service could have been better, especially for Christmas lunch when we weren't offered drinks with our meal. The waiting staff were however all pleasant and hospitable although I'd suggest they could probably do with some direction and leadership as the service wasn't consistent. Over the few days we stayed there were a few minor points that may not be to everybody's taste, e.g. fibre pillows don't work for me as they're either too high with two pillows, or too low with only one. Also, the shower pressure wasn't great. These are however minor points. On the whole this is a nice hotel that has potential to be great with a little attention to some of the finer details that visitors look for in a four star hotel.
