  Equipment needs updating. Good variety of equipment and top brand equipment however it is so old, the knurling on a lot of barbells has worn down, the steel inserts on bumpers are loose and most bumpers are cracked. The olympic barbell I was using, squeaked with very inconsistent spin (although it probably span great when new). There is also a mismatch of change plates from various different brands which creates a messy look (a thick tri-grip rubber coated plate on one side and a thin cast iron plate on the other side). That said, it's good to see a gym with a proper training environment which allows chalk and reasonable weight dropping for olympic lifting and heavy deadlifts. I was worried about hitting the low roof however it wasn't a problem. The low roof also seems to create a nice atmosphere. The gym is surprisingly spacious and gives off a very hard core vibe which for me was over the top with the shouty music but if that's your thing then you'll love it. -Swap all the old plates and barbells for new ones. -A lick of paint and general refurbishment wouldn't hurt too. -Great variety of equipment to suit different styles of training. -Nice atmosphere if a little OTT hard-core (personal taste)

  Perfect for proper strength training as well as all the other usual suspects. Plenty of squat racks and lifting mats.

  Great local gym, good prices for students and a friendly atmosphere from everyone.

  This is a manly ass gym, son. Great music (not just techno trash). Not busy even at peak times, and really good equipment and bar variety. Best gym I've ever gone to. Not great for cardio but no one cares about cardio.
